- Across the Universe, from director Julie Taymor, is a revolutionary rock musical that reimagines America in the turbulent times of 1960s. a time battle which was being drawn at home and abroad.
The film is centered in songs of the beatles and it is based on an original story, It incorporates 34 compositions written by members of the beatles.



The film tells the story when Jude leaves Liverpool to find his father in America and he falls in love
with Lucy, a rich American girl who joins the anti-war movement in New York.

The 60s decade

The 60s was the decade of youth and women in the First World, the rights of blacks in the United States, Africa's independence, war of liberation in Latin America and the updating of the Roman Catholic Church.

This began to change in this decade due to several factors: the youth of the Kennedy; the success of the Beatles (admired not only for young people also for adults), the revolt of the university students against the war in Vietnam; thinking and organizational capacity of women like Helen Gurley Brown, and a new Social or cultural movements emerge as the movements "hippies" with their sexual freedom, communitarianism, rejection of the system, involved in anti-war protests and spread over the world against the war of Vietnam . In general, a new sensibility about love, sex, family and values emerged.

One of the most disagreeable  events of this decade was The missile crisis that  was to be the beginning of the Third World War in this decade.

The 60s decade was a decade of change, in western wold mainly. Some of the most important changes on this decade were the assassination of the president John Kennedy, the Vietnam War and the anti- war movement, the fight of Martin Luther King to improve the social situation of black people and the creation of the Beatles band.

The Beatles had influenced a lot with their music in people, especially in teenagers making them changing everything in their life, especially their style and likes. During the sixties, many people immigrated to other countries looking for a better life. In this decade social classes were very different and teenagers had a lot of freedom comparing with other times.

The 60s were, no doubt, a revolutionary decade in the world.

Across the universe is an American musical romantic drama film directed by Julie Taymor, produced by revolution studios and distributed by Columbia Pictures. The film starred Evan Rachel Wood, Jim Sturgess, Joe Anderson, Dana Fuchs and Martin Luther Mc Coy.

The film´s plot is centered on songs by The Beatles. The script is based on an original story credited to Taymor, Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. It incorporates 34 compositions originally written by members of The Beatles.

Across the universe is a very interesting film which is based on the sixties and shows us the important changes which were in this decade.

Selena Gomez and The Scene was formed in 2009 in Hollywood.

The original members were Selena (vocals), Ethan Roberts (guitar), Nick Foxer (drums), and Greg Garmon (bass). But in 2002, Ethan and Nick were replaced by Joey and Dane.

Selena and Greg are the members who write the songs. Most of the lyrics are based on Selena´s love stories.

The band played classical, country and pop. But with the time they changed it to electrodance because the teenagers prefer it.

Their first album was  “Kiss and Tell” by Hollywood Records. It was witten by Selena. Most of the songs are  very  romantic.

Their second album “A year without rain” was released in 2010 with the same company.

The last album of the band “When the sun goes down”  it is one of my favourites. This album was written for the fans like a support for them. In one song “ Who says”, she speaks about  how perfect we are in every way.

This album sold more tha 2 million copies only in U.S.A.

Between 2009 and 2011, they were nominated for ninteen MTV Music Awards, ten Choice Awards, two Much Music Awards and three People ‘s Music Awards.

It is my favourite band because with their songs I learned how to love myself,  how to be strong and  how to be a powerfull woman.

Ozzy Osbourn

 John Michael Osbourne (born 3 December 1948), also known as Ozzy Osbourne, is an English vocalist, songwriter, and televisión personality with a career during more tan fourty years of activity. He was part of  famous band called Black Sabbath but in 1980 he started a career as a solist and he was very successful. He is better known as The Madman, The Godfather of Heavy Metal and the Prince of Darkness.

He had a poor childhood, which came to be without food for a year. He left school at fifteen and worked in many jobs that paid him very little, he began to steal houses until he was arrested. He was made The OZZY tattoo and a happy face on their knees himself with a sewing needle and a piece of graphite. After six weeks of imprisonment he was released.

He made numerous collaborations with many important bands like Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, System of a Down…

The police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977.The original members of the group were Sting who was the vocalist, songwriter and bassist, Andy Summers who was the guitarist and Steward Copeland who was the drummer.

The police became famous since they released their first album. Their first album called Outlandosd'Amour, reached number six in the UK, and their second album Reggatta de Blanc became the first of five consecutive UK number one albums. Their third album Synchronicity 1983 was number one in both the UK and the US, and sold over 8 million copies in the US alone. The Police have sold over 75 million records, making them one of the world's best-selling artists of all time.

The police, has won a lot of prizes for their music and videos including, six Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards winning Best British Group once, an MTV Video Music Award, and in 2003 were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
