Anousheh Ansari

Anousheh Ansari was the first female private space explorer. She was born on the 12th of September in 1966. Anousheh immigrated to the United States as a teenager who did not speak English. She got her bachelor's degree in electronics and computer engineering from George Mason University, followed by a master's degree in electrical engineering from George Washington University.

While Anousheh was in space she wrote a blog that invited readers to share her experience. She described the capsule in which they travelled and also about the everyday activities such as eating and washing up in zero gravity.

Back on earth, she has been awarded for many times as the honorary doctorate from international Space University. In celebration of her accomplishments, "Anousheh Ansari Day" was proclaimed in the city of Dallas on November 7.
