FACT SHEET-Out of Africa

Out of África is an American romantic drama film directed and produced by Sydney Pollack where the protagonists are Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. The movie is based on true events, the film tells the facts wrote Isak Dinesen which was published in 1937. The film tells story of Dinesen in Kenya during the time when it was a British colony.

Karen Blixen decides to marry Bror Blixen-Baron Finecke and go live in Kenya, one of the British colonies in Africa, to run a coffee plantation. Her husband cheats on her, so she decides to divorce him. She's happy because little by little she gets more comfortable with her surroundings. There she meets a professional hunter Denys Finch Hatton, adventurer, which falls for Karen. But their perspective of love is different, because he does not want to be compromised or getting married. A fire destroys her coffee harvest and she's ruined, so she had to return to Europe.
