It was filmed in 1913, before first war mundial. Karen Blixen moved to British East Africa in late 1913 at the age of 28, to marry her second cousin.
In 1937 she published her Kenya movie Out of Africa. She had written it in 1915, while she was recuperating in a Danish hospital from a fight.
The film was directed by the American Sydney Pollack. This film received 28 film awards including seven Academy Awards.
